A Message Regarding The Pending Federal Government Shutdown
January 31, 2019
On January 25th, the House and Senate quickly passed, and the President signed, a joint continuing resolution (CR) to reopen the federal departments and agencies that were affected by the partial government shutdown since December 22, 2018. The CR extends funding for the shutdown for federal agencies until February 15. If the stalemate on how to fund the government isn’t resolved by this deadline, it could result in another shutdown.
In our last communication, we informed you that there would be no impact on payments through the end of February. We are continuing contingency planning to minimize negative operational affects if the government is shutdown on February 16th. If the government is shut down again, CHA will continue Housing Assistance Payments to all providers through April.
The Charlotte Housing Authority values our partnership and will do everything feasible to avoid interruptions in timely payments.
We will continue to maintain open lines of communication and keep you informed of important updates.
Thank you for your support,
